IELTS
IELTS is the most popular English language proficiency test in the
world. The test measures a test taker’s ability to communicate in
four basic English language skills - listening, reading, writing, and
speaking.
IELTS is accepted by over 10,000+ organizations in around 140
countries. This includes universities, professional bodies, and
immigration departments. The test is jointly owned by IDP, British
Council and Cambridge English.

Type of Tests:
Academic (For candidates seeking higher education in colleges and universities in UK, USA, Canada, Australia & NZ)

General Training (For candidates planning to work and migrate to English-speaking countries)
Test Format:
Listening: 4 Sections in 30 minutes. Additional, 10 minutes to transfer answers on to a fair answer sheet.
​
Reading: 60 Minutes to complete 3 passages. There is NO extra time to transfer answers on to a fair answer sheet.
​
Writing: Two tasks (Task 1- a Letter or Report in 150 words and an Essay in 250 words) 60 minutes to complete these 2 tasks.
​
Speaking: 11- 14 Minutes of one-on-one interview with a trained examiner. Three sections
Test Scores:
Since IELTS evaluates English language proficiency level, a particular test score only indicates to a test taker’s current proficiency level. There is no passing or failing in IELTS. The score is reported on a scale of 1- 9 band for each skill – Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking.
While institutions may have specific individual score requirements in each skill, your overall score is important.
Result & Score Validity:
IELTS results are generally released within a week (online) or 13 calendar days (offline) after your sit for the test. The score is valid for 2 years.

A test-taker may choose an appropriate mode of test suitable to his or her preference. There will be no difference in the quality of the test.
